Artists and audiences got an opportunity to explore the fascinating world of self-portraiture at the "Self Portrait-Live" exhibition hosted by the Hina Bhatt Art Foundation. This captivating showcase, held at Darpan Art Gallery near Senapati Bapat Road, featured an array of self-portraits crafted by both renowned and emerging artists.

Inauguration Extravaganza:

Seeking divine blessings, the inauguration unfolded under the esteemed presence of Shri Rakesh Bhatt, Executive Director of Bajaj Finance.
Eminent artists, including Shri Vasudeo Kamath, Prof. Vilas Tonape, and Shri Milind Mulick, graced the ceremony, illuminating the space with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
A riveting discussion ensued, delving into the art of self-portraiture and its profound significance in the realm of fine arts.

Insights from Maestros:

Shri Vasudeo Kamath shared enlightening perspectives on the history of portraits, emphasising self-painting as a medium of self-realisation.
Milind Mulick further explored the intricacies, highlighting the distinction between gazing at oneself in a mirror and the introspective process of painting a self-portrait.

Live Demonstrations by Stalwarts:

Renowned artists Shri Vasudeo Kamath and Prof. Vilas Tonape mesmerized the audience with live demonstrations, bringing their self-portraits to life.
Following a brief intermission, Shri Manoj Sakale and Shri Pramod Kurlekar captivated the audience with their live portrait creations.

Unique "Live Creation" Segment:

Ten finalists participated in real-time self-portrait creations, alongside established artists, forming the distinctive "live creation" segment.
This segment, born from an online competition, witnessed artists capturing their self-images in real-time using mirrors.
Daman Gambhir emerged as the grand prize winner, with Prem Awale and Prasad Thite securing the first and second runner-up positions, respectively.

Masterful Showcases and Facebook Highlights:

Days two to four showcased live demonstrations by master artists Surabhi Gulwelkar, Mukta Avachat, Manjiri More, and Ganesh Kalaskar.
The foundation's Facebook page featured paintings by these illustrious artists, offering a virtual glimpse into their artistic prowess.
