Anil Sharma is a renowned Indian artist whose evocative watercolour and acrylic paintings bring the cultural and spiritual soul of Banaras to life. A graduate of Banaras Hindu University, his works often depict iconic ghats, temples, and daily life along the Ganges, blending realism with abstraction to create a mesmerizing visual language. His signature style captures the fluidity of water and light, using bold brushwork and vivid colours to evoke emotion and narrative. Works like Banaras Ghat from Boat and Mysterious Mood of Nature reflect his mastery in mood, movement, and memory. His solo show aptly titled the Moods of the Soul is sponsored by Hina Bhatt Art Foundation as a recognition to his continuous exceptional growth as an artist and thus awarded the Smt Chandrikaben Shukla Prashasti Award for the year 2025. Deeply rooted in tradition yet boldly expressive, Sharma’s art is both a homage to his heritage and a contemporary exploration of identity and belonging.
