Surabhi Gulwelkar

India-based artist Surabhi Gulwelkar (B.1993), works in a representational style distinguished by spontaneous brushwork and a dynamic use of colour. She completed her Master’s degree in Fine Art from Sir J. J. School of Art and further completed Drawing Workshop at The Florence Academy of Art, Italy under a scholarship program. Her artistic practice combines strong academic foundations with expressive painterly execution.

Surabhi has received numerous prestigious national and international recognitions, including the International BoldBrush Outstanding Pastel Award, Gold Medal from the Art Society of India, Maharashtra State Art Award, Bendre-Hussain Scholarship and Camel Art Foundation Award. She is also a recipient of Young Artist Scholarship by the Government of India and the Kalananda All India Merit Grant.

Her artworks have been exhibited through solo and group exhibitions across India and are part of private collections in the USA, UK, Germany, Italy, Australia, & Turkey. In addition to her artistic practice, she is actively engaged in art education and has been invited as a resource person and demonstrator at national and international level. She was also selected as a Brand Educator for Winsor & Newton, the world-renowned oil color and fine art material brand based in London. Surabhi continues to explore and evolve her unique pictorial language through dedicated learning, observation, and experimentation.
